Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Liz W — 18 Aug 2009
A very intense movie, with a number of story lines and themes running through it. I would best describe it as a coming of age film, but more intelligently done than some hollywood films of similar genre.
Although this movie does have moments of humour, it is more a dark humour and it deals with teenage frustrations, boredom, confusion, sexuality and ultimately finding yourself. It's a bit of a rollercoaster and does have a sad ending, but it's very well acted.
This was my second time seeing this after having first seen it over 6 years ago, so it was interesting seeing it from a new perspective.
