Review of Y Tu Mamá También (2001) by Nadiya R — 01 Jun 2012
What can I say? I loved it. The film's casual, carpe diem approach to sex and sexuality, particularly from Luisa's point-of-view is really something to be admired. Great realism and narrative style.
Garcia Bernal and Luna have amazing chemistry. Great depiction of how platonic relationships-turned-physical usually have bittersweet ends. Best mà (C)nage à trois film since Jules et Jim. And just when I thought I couldn't be any more in love with this movie, along comes the Frank Zappa tune in the end credits.
That sealed it for me.
