Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by Tim S — 25 Feb 2009
I liked this movie a lot more than I thought I would because I thought that I would hate it. Either way, once you get past the other world that looks like California setting (I know it was made on a shoe string budget, but it seems like everything is made on a shoe string budget and what I'm wondering is if this thing is so shoe string budget wise then how the fuck did they afford Job from Arrested Development, but anyway.
..) and realize that all logic can be forgotten because it is in this other world that looks like California. you actually might have a good time with this movie. The big problem is that Patrick Fugit (the lead) was very annoying in some scenes to me (the scene where he plays drunk is one of the worst actor playing drunk scenes I have ever seen), but there is the absolutely stunning Shannyn Sossamon to watch so it's not that bad.
Then there is Tom Waits and Will Arnett that try to slap some good into the film, but by that time you as a viewer don't care and it's too late. The ending was cute, but I saw it coming a mile away.
