Review of Wristcutters: A Love Story (2007) by John B — 13 Dec 2009
It's hard to imagine that a movie that centers around suicide victims existing in a bleak limbo where nothing is quite right and nobody ever smiles could make me smile so much, but it did. Wristcutters is a played about as slowly (and smoothly) as it it could be, and as soon Zia meets Mikal, the ending isn't hard to figure, but somewhere between Kamikaze Pizza and a suicidal commune cult, Wristcutters reaches a perfectly dry stride.
Always remanining genuine and charming, there are a hundred little things that can only be noticed after several viewings. I'm sure to find more, but I'm also sure that Wristcutters will always remain "almost like new.
