Review of Wonder Woman (2009) by Jorel M — 03 Mar 2009
Can you say "Lord of the Lesbians" lol.
Im just kidding, it was cool. Of course the battles were very big as always with DC. Alred Molina was great as Ares, and they reverted back to the original wonder woman story, in which she could not fly without her plane, a little disappointing, but its not like they've never done that before. The coolest thing is we actually get to see the very first animated DC decapitation lol.
The animation was very clean, and bright. However I, as usual, I am always so dissapointed with the animation speed in DC cartoons. Even when the characters are drawn to be running, its like I know ya'll can move faster than that. The only DC I have seen thats animated at a much faster speed is "The Batman" on the CW. The animation on that show is so fluid and fast. I think if these techniques were applied to this film, it may have been a hell of a lot more dynamic.
The voices of Rosario Dawson and Alfred Molina was a very good compliment to the film. Molina's perfomance here, much like in Spiderman 2, was very "showboaty" but I still dug it. After all he is playing the God of war lol. All-in-all I think its a solid project for the family, maybe a moderately entertaining for die-hard Justice League fans. However, I think avid old school wonder woman fans might enjoy it a lot.
