Review of Woman in Gold (2015) by Jason N — 19 Apr 2015
A story about justice for an elderly Jewish woman Maria Altman (Helen Mirren) who after burying her sister seeks the help of her friends lawyer son Randol Schoenberg (Ryan Reynolds) to help her recover the painting of her aunt which was unlawfully taken away from her family by the Nazi's.
The film goes along at a swift pace with a good story but really good chemistry from Mirren and Reynolds who share good comedic timing and Mirren's quality acting really helped Reynolds deliver the sort of performance we all know he's capable of.
Its based off a true story with a sprinkle of Hollywood fairy dust which made it such an entertaining watch for everyone other than a Nazi apologist.
