Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Callum H — 19 Jun 2009
See this is why I hate camping, hiking, road trips and nature :P.
It takes exactly 55 minutes for the gruesome and gorey part to kick in, so if you hate boring build-ups like I do, here's what you need to know: three friends are on a road trip, they stop at an ancient meteorite crater park called Wolf Creek where their car breaks down. A "friendly" stranger stops by willing to help & let the nightmare begin.
This was really good & really fun. One of the most enjoyable movie i've seen lately. Scary when it wants to be. Funny when it wants to be. And gross when it wants to be, too. It is far from perfect, but achieves what it sets out to do. And it does it well. It's quite a chilling movie and with the knowledge that this is based on true events, it will linger in your mind like a bad dream.
