Review of Wolf Creek (2005) by Richard R — 25 Jul 2013
48 minutes is too long a time to get to the actual horror in a 98 minute horror movie. Nothing happened except we see three young people setting off on a trail across Australia (which constitutes the first thirty minutes), then they meet a seemingly nice old man who helps them when their care breaks down - and then proceeds to torture and murder them one by one.
I get the point, just not the execution (no pun intended). There's just nothing there to set it apart from the other movies nor provide any genuine horror - even the "based on true events" part was nonsense - at least on The Fourth Kind they sold it well.
