Review of Wizards (1977) by Doug F — 02 Jul 2010
Interesting, but not particularly good. Wizards is brought to you by Ralph Bakshi, best known for his unfinished animated adaptation of The Lord of the Rings. While the concepts (both character and story wise) are superb, the narrative is messy and focuses on all the wrong things.
He spends more time on inane comic relief than important turning points in the story. Similarly, it's hard to lock onto his target audience. It's too goofy for adults most of the time, but also is broken up by scenes of horrific violence!
