Review of Witness (1985) by Nigel D — 15 Mar 2008
A pretty engaging thriller. Harrison Ford delivers a good performance that surprised this Han Solo and Indiana Jones fan. Direction in both the dramatic and action scenes is handled well, though die-hard action movie lovers will be disappointed at how little action there really is. However, anybody who realizes that it takes more than action to make a good movie should check this one out.
A couple of side notes: My favorite moment comes at the beginning of the movie, when the dramatic difference between the Amish community and the "real world" is starkly portrayed in the first few minutes with no dialogue. And check out a pre-Lord of the Rings Viggo Mortensen in his small role.
