Review of Wit (2001) by Laura W — 06 Mar 2008
This movie is amazing. One of the best that I have seen in a very long time. Emma Thompson plays the scholar of a 16th century poet, who is a tough and unrelational lecturer. The film follows the process in which she is diagnosed with stage three cancer, and is used as a research subject, being subjected to full dose chemotherapy - 8 cycles, which no one has survived.
It brilliantly portrays the notion that perhaps people and friendship are more important than information and research.
