Review of Wit (2001) by Skyler M — 24 Oct 2010
This film really hits home for me, considering that I had a family member with cancer as well, so I didn't really watch it when it came out, saw it only recently and it really blew me away.
Emma Thompson is without a doubt an incredible actress, being able to portray pain without it sounding like you're having a painful orgasm is a plus. The thing I like about this film the most is that it's not something new or interesting but Emma's character drags you in and really shows what happens when a person is suddenly in a situation where they're dying away is amazing. The film isn't so overly emotional (until the end), it's more like a reflection of life and acceptance of fate.
