Review of Wishmaster (1997) by Patrick S — 06 Dec 2008
Besides Andrew Divoff as a human, Robert Englund and Tony Todd the acting is horrible. The story is weak at best and incomprehensible at worst.
What's that you say? Not valid criticisms for a horror movie? Ok then, the special effects range from horrible to bad(with the exception of the living statues, those were cool). The deaths are poorly executed or just have no joy and soul in them. Hell, Norm the Genie from Fairly Odd Parents is scarier and smarter than the Djinn here. He could easily outsmart the hero with that horrific non-specific wish to turn everything back to normal.
Fuckin' weak.
