Jennifer Lawrence gave an amazing performance in Winter's Bone. I didn't go in expecting much, but was absolutely blown away. John Hawkes gave a great performance as well. The film provides good storytelling and cinematography.
You won't be disappointed. If you are disappointed, perhaps you'd enjoy some crappy film like the Human Centipede instead.
