Review of Winter's Bone (2010) by Sampsa K — 23 Jul 2014
For all the critical acclaim, Winter's Bone delivers one of the bigger disappointments of my recent movie history. It takes place in a less than glamorous subculture rarely depicted in movies, and does so in such harsh detail that it's easy to see why this movie would stand out.
However, it is largely boring and thoroughly grim and hardly an enjoyable movie experience.
