Review of Winter Light (1963) by Mike O — 04 Apr 2008
A stark, minimalist film - full of the harsh, unforgiving winter sunlight.
Gunnar Björnstrand is perfect as the desperately unhappy Pastor,.
Unable to come to terms with a life without God, and unable to open.
Himself up to the love and affection of those around him.
A dark, oppressive film, but one that is beautifully crafted.
