Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Russ M — 09 Sep 2011
Academy Award winner it is not, but you can see John Lassiter's hand on this classic tale. Will any child over 6 enjoy it, sure. But there are not a any fart jokes, vampires or car chases, Whew! It is just a reminder that kids movies are just supposed to be fun, entertaining and imaginative.
It was for lack of a better word, refreshing. Zooey's singing was great and Jim Cummings is a legend on the voices. It is nice to take your daughter to a film that you do not have to explain away the sexual overtones and toilet humour.
Well done Disney for taking a chance on a classic and doing it well. Watch out for the Backson!
