Review of Winnie the Pooh (2011) by Matt G — 13 Apr 2015
Disney's first Pooh feature is one of my favorite animated films, filled with calm yet sharp segments of humor and character. At times, I miss the compilation vibe of that film, but this 2011 outing still brings much of that same spirit.
It's playful and consistent narrative gratefully stays away from the frantic nature of many modern children's films. Brimming with great wordplay humor (ala Abbott and Costello) and some sweetly catchy songs (Deschanel is a perfect fit), this is a beautifully drawn (if WAY too short) Disney-throwback film.
