I recall watching Winnie The Pooh when I was a kid, so I watched this 2011 reboot of the franchise. It is a good movie, but my reception to this movie is rather mixed.

I like the songs 'The Backson Song', 'It's Gonna Be Great' and 'Everything Is Honey', my least favourite one though is 'A Very Important Thing To Do'. Basically, I don't really see the point in Winnie The Pooh being a musical franchise - I don't know why, exactly, but I don't think it's that necessary to have musical numbers all the time in the franchise.

I like the humour, the jokes, the voice acting, and the animation (even though it is just drawn animation), and it does sort of help with John Cleese narrating, but I think the storyline is a little too average. It almost feels like two stories with a short length - first Eeyore loses his tail, and then everyone assumes that Christopher Robin has been captured by the so-called Backson. I mean, seriously, why would you would have something epic in a story that isn't really epic? All of Rabbit's planning and everyone adventuring for nothing! It could have been a massively epic twist if Christopher Robin really was captured by a baddie even if not the Backson, right? Okay, so the Backson made an appearance after the credits, but then again, they've spoiled everything and turned him into a nice character.

Every time I watch Winnie The Pooh, I keep noticing that they don't add anything new to the franchise, which is virtually annoying. The characters stay in the same location, never getting out of the woods, never going anywhere new.

I have no doubt that the live action Christopher Robin film is going to be a million times better though.

So anyway, if you really like Winnie The Pooh, give this a shot, but if you're buying it expecting something really new in the franchise, I wouldn't recommend it.
