Review of Win Win (2011) by Erin H — 25 Sep 2011
Win Win is a nice little drama/comedy. Paul giamatti stars as a lawyer and volunteer high school wrestling coach who is struggling to get by. To make some extra money he agrees to be the guardian to an old man with no family who is suffering from dementia.
The guardianship pays $1,500 a month so Paul puts the old man in a home a collects the check every month. Then one day the old man's grandson shows up and Paul ends up taking him in. It also turns out the boy is a very good wrestling so he ends up joining Paul's team.
Things get complicated when the daughter of the old man shows up. The movie has a pretty simple story. The cast is great. Paul Giamatti , Jeffery Tambor, and Bobby Cannavale provide quite a few laughs as the coaching staff for the wrestling team.
It was also nice to see Burt young (Paulie from the Rocky movies) as the old man.
