Review of Willy's Wonderland (2021) by Adamp — 20 Feb 2021
This movie is weird. It's like Five Nights at Freddy's with Nicolas Cage. The plot is dumb but at least we get explanation as the movie goes on (really stupid one but acceptable). So the janitor played by Nic Cage gets trapped in the restaurant Willy's Wonderland after accepting a janitor job to clean the place in order to be able to pay for his car repairs. He's a silent protagonist, and pretty badass, not being afraid of the evil, creepy animatronics.
Effects are decent considering it's a very low budget movie, acting is fine. Music isn't bad, there are some catchy tunes too. It has some weird humor in it, that I liked. Somewhat cheesy B-movie. It's bad but good at the same time. Don't expect something huge, something revolutionary from this movie. It's dumb fun. I really hope it'll have a cult following for its bizarreness, FNAF inspiration and by people who like these kind of movies in general.
If I would rate it objectively, probably it would be around a 4/10. If I consider the fun I had not to overthink the plot just simply enjoying it for what it is, it's an 8/10.
