Review of Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) by Andrew S — 13 Sep 2014
While most people watched this movie as a child and grew up to love it even more as adults, this movie has and always will fill me with the burning desire to castrate myself. The film makes little to no attempt to capture the feeling of the book, certain plot devices add nothing to the story whatsoever, the finer points of the film are treated like jokes, and the background behind the film's creation only makes me hate it more.
Roald Dahl had every right to be angry with Hollywood.
