Review of Wild Strawberries (2012) by Marko H — 14 Sep 2007
This was my first experience with Bergman. My expectations were high, and I have a feeling I will enjoy this film more if I watch it again. It sort of unravels like a "Christmas Carol", with Isak being like Scrooge, seeing visions into the past.
It's a well-told story, and the cinematography is wonderful. I was slightly surprised by the light humour, but the melodrama of certain characters sort of threw me off. Regardless, this was a good film, and I think it will serve as a proper introduction to Bergman.
