Review of Wild at Heart (1990) by Patrick D — 19 Apr 2009
Like several of David Lynch's movies, Wild At Heart is perfect in every way. The varied characters, whose eccentricities and nuances are portrayed cleverly by the cast. The always effective score by Lynch collaborator Angelo Badalamenti.
The random intercutting scenes; loud bursts of sound during quiet scenes. Willem Dafoe plays his sleaziest role ever, while Diane Ladd makes you want to kill her everytime shes on screen. I guess you could say, if you take the best parts out of The Notebook, and blend them with the best parts of Natural Born Killers, you'd have Wild At Heart.
And nothing beats the ending, I love it. Con Air prequel, maybe????
