From the director of Dallas Buyers Club, Wild tells the story of a woman who hikes more than a thousand miles into the wilderness in order to try and redeem herself. Reese Witherspoon gives her strongest performance since her academy award win for "Walk the Line," and proves why she today is America's Sweetheart.

I say that because I feel Witherspoon is that type of actress we need today in the movies. Fearless. Determined. And just damn gorgeous to watch. She really is a talented actress who I think should focus more on drama than some of the recent stuff she has been doing lately as drama seems to be more of her calling.

The flash back scenes are the best scenes in the movie. They show us what lead to Witherspoon's character spinning out of control with her life. Laura Dern also is very impressive in this as well in flashback scenes as Witherspoon's mother.

But this all Witherspoon's movie, as this is a very terrific and at times quiet depiction of a woman trying to figure things out.
