Review of Wild (2014) by Autumn B — 03 Oct 2015
My husband and I began this movie drunk on the Oscar nods. However, after forty minutes we had had enough. Wild is the story of a young woman who decided to conquer her demons by hiking down the Pacific Crest Trail.
Instead of some much needed exposition at the beginning, the audience learns about her demons are bit by bit through flashbacks. I cannot think of a more annoying way to develop a character. The character was inconsistent, poorly developed and just kind of sad.
I would pass on this one. 28 Days or In the Days of Wine and Roses are much better stories of redemption.
