Review of Where the Wild Things Are (2009) by Hari A — 12 Oct 2012
Utterly weird, but a sensational journey through a different world as you laugh, cry and imagine your way through the movie. Max (Max Records) runs away from home into the extravagant world of wild creatures who make him their king, thus embarking on a trip of friendship, love, hate and self realization.
James Gandolfini's voice as Carol is simply superb. Gandolfini manages to convert Carol's big wild physique into something friendly and with feelings. Max's portrayal of disturbed young boy is also very good. Other characters were not that focussed on, but the part was played well.
Overflowing with imagination, this remake of the children's book of the same name is simply a wonderful traverse that must not be missed.
