Review of Where the Truth Lies (2005) by Daniel P — 03 Jan 2011
Trashy, thrilling and surprisingly well plotted, Where The Truth Lies is Wild Things' brainier older brother. Bolstered by excellent performances from Colin Firth and Alison Lohman, the film is a cleverly engineered who and why-dunnit that looks stunning and is very evocative - the sleaze is palpable.
Hampered by an NC-17 rating in the US, it's worth seeking out and it holds up on second viewing.
