Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by Blæke W — 06 Apr 2012
Where Eagles Dare (1969).
Directed by: Brian G. Hutton.
Unrated, 2 hr. 38 min.
Release Date: March 12, 1969.
Beally great classic if any type was interested in a catch up these days quite hammie though cutting edge espionage in it`s time with the quirky anti-subtitle or even accent for a whole scene/movie set in another language (not a hang up).
It shone hay-day favourites in the stella line up and as I thought i`d dropped off/nodded off has a time shift sequence almost 'Tarrentino' like right in the middle so for the unobservant or over-observant makes for an interesting unravelling crescendo.
A top action adventure intelligence film but a much better story and screen play filling out the thrilling climactic war time intrigue.
