Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by Fred L — 22 Jan 2008
Perhaps the inspiration for Wolfenstein 3D, that makes the Guns Of Navarone look like a Prologue, Alistair Maclean's best selling novel couldn't be better realised than in this Richard Burton/Clint Eastwood vehicle.
Perhaps the most fun you will have watching World War II, 'Where Eagles Dare' will leave you guessing, suspecting, on the edge of your seat and jumping for joy as our two protagonists completely demolish a whole medievil nazi fortress to smitherines.
When the action takes off, it doesn't stop. It only builds momentum and the final twist will have you pressing the replay button on conclusion. Don't watch this film......BUY IT!
