Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by Bruce W — 27 Jan 2008
I saw this movie as a little kid at a theater in 1969(?) as a double feature with another superb movie "Ice Station Zebra" and had the memory hardwired into my memory where it stays to this day.
I admire the way this movie provides a solid plot premise (with twists and turns to surprise first-time viewers) that lays a solid foundation for all the action to follow. The special effects show their age at times, but I still enjoy this as much as Clint Eastwood enjoys mowing down Nazis in narrow alpine castle hallways!
