Review of Where Eagles Dare (1968) by Simon W — 07 Feb 2008
With one of the most unlikely parings in cinema history this film puts sly British agent Richard Burton and death- dealing American Ranger Clint Eastwood against hordes of Nazis. That?s basically the plot right there, the story written by acclaimed author Alastair MacLean (The Guns of Navarone) spins a wild web of bullets, cable car?s and double crosses in a marathon of violence and escapism.
Recommended for the main actors? unparalleled cunning, the quintessential stiff upper lip, an endless supplies of bullets and of course a healthy amount of carnage.
