This is a movie entitled and based around Gilbert, but the family (and the actors) around him make the story unique. Leonardo DiCaprio has his most underrated, unknown performance and gives this movie emotion and sparks interest in an otherwise straightline coming-of-age story about a young adult growing up in the middle of nowhere (Depp).
