Review of What Maisie Knew (2013) by Rob W — 15 Apr 2014
A fantastic story, which credit is due to the author of the book (Henry James) this movie is based on. Its a heartbreaking depiction of what a custody battle does to a child when both parents are not suitable to take care of the child because neither parent really wants to, yet is persistent on telling the child how much they love her, and fight to maintain custody of the child.
Sometimes neither parent is the right parent, and system legally forces one or both to continue raising the child. A great contemporary reimagining of Henry James' novel, which I will have to add to my "to read" list.
Onata Aprile was brilliant in portraying such innocence and spirit.
