Review of Westworld (1973) by Michael T — 09 Nov 2008
The recently deceased Michael Chricton directed this film back in 1973 which features Richard Benjamin and James Brolin as guests of a near future high-tech resort serviced by sophisticated androids who start malfunctioning and killing off the guests.
Yul Brynner dresses like the the character he played in THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN and serves as a template for Arnie's cyborg in THE TERMINATOR as his robot gunslinger stalks poor James Brolin through the high-tech amusment park.
Typical Chricton concerns about technology and human fallibility abound but this is basically a sci-fi "shoot-em-up.".
