Review of Westworld (1973) by Richard D — 21 Jun 2015
From the writer of Jurassic Park (the book AND the movie), comes Westworld, an excellent mix of genres, from period piece western and medieval and sci-fi. Delos is a company that has the ultimate theme park for adults.
Westworld, Medievalworld, and Romeworld, where one can mingle amongst many robots that look and talk like real humans. One can go on a killing spree, sleep with prostitutes, the sky's the limit! Too bad the robots malfunction and seek to kill everyone in the park, and only a nebbish protagonist can outdo Yul Brynner's intimidating gunslinger.
The movie is a bit light on plot and character development, but it makes up for it with sheer excitement, suspense, and set pieces.
