Review of We're the Millers (2013) by Jack B — 13 Feb 2014
We're the Millers is not anything new in terms of originality but that doesn't essentially make the movie bad. The movie has it's funny parts that make you laugh but in the end the movie just relies on gross out tactics and vulgar jokes to get cheap laughs.
The stupidity of this movie is what makes it funny but all in all its not that good. The whole climax could have been written by a five year old (with a dirty mind) and there are just some questions that need to be asked.
I know David loves his "family' and when he comes back to get them, everyone comes off as jerks because they use him just to get more money. The movie has it's fair share of dumb scenes such as the strip dance for the bad guy (where this is no actual stripping) and the DEA bust.
I just feel like the film really didn't try to write any thing bold and original and just went with a kid getting bit by a spider in the balls. I'l admit though I would love to see a whole movie dedicated to just David and Kenny.
