Review of Wendy and Lucy (2008) by Wendy S — 19 Sep 2011
Slow burn, slice of life etc. If you've read anything about this film you'll know it harkens to Neorealist films like Umberto D or The Bicycle Thief. I was genuinely moved and gripped by Wendy's plight.
While people may argue she made wrong or stupid decisions I simply saw her as a real person who makes small mistakes that people make everyday. It's just that her mistakes have bigger consequences.
