Yes, it's nice to get away from the hollywood movies which are so loaded with special effects that they forget character development, plot, etc. At the same time, it's nice to have an interesting story line.
To me "Wendy and Lucy" is nothing special and not something I'd recommend. I'm sure those that are raving about it will argue that there's some deeper meaning to it. Really, it's quite dull.
