Review of Welcome to the Dollhouse (1996) by Arseniy V — 19 Dec 2009
A tragic tale set against a backdrop of the paralyzingly dreadful junior high world. Told in a very genuine way, with all the: pitilessness, heartache, danger, puzzlement, loneliness and absurdity of the real thing.
No ingredient overdone, neglected nor taken for granted. All, through the experiences of a little female person. Between this and "Happiness", Solondz is quickly becoming one of my favorite directors.
