I must admit that I am one of the few that hated Joaquin Phoenix's portrayal of Johnny Cash in Walk the Line. But after seeing his performances in Reservation Road and here in We Own the Night, I am convinced that Joaquin Phoenix is an amazing actor.
This was a very atmospheric, Scorsese-esque crime drama with a great story, good character development and outstanding performances by Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes and Robert Duvall. The supporting cast does a superb job as well.
