Plenty of potential with a Wahlberg/Phoenix double act. I think this movie really hit the downturn of Joaquin's acting career. Could have been so much, its just a touch of cheese along with the very serious storyline.
Eva Mendes always flatters to deceive and honestly, she deceives to flatter too. Robert Duvall is a legend, but has a quiet and restrained role as the bad brothers father.
There are plenty other movies that will give you the same story and the identical idea.
