Review of We Have a Pope (2011) by Avishek C — 21 Apr 2012
WE HAVE A POPE is an extraordinary film about the humanity of 108 people (Cardinals) who control 1 billion other people (the Believers) around the world. At the surface it looks innocent but if you look very close, you will see the manipulation the Institution of Church utilizes to look RIGHT to its flock.
Many small nuances about the lives of the cardinals are interesting to watch and the comic aspect is just right to make a remarkable point: the Catholic religion, is all about MAKE BELIVE, it is grand theater with scripts to follow, costumes, sets and sound for people to enjoy, hope and behave.
I loved this elegant film.
