Review of We Have a Pope (2011) by Lola M — 28 Nov 2012
First of all, "We Have a Pope" is far from what I would call a comedy. It is a thoughtful perplexing film which asks more questions than it answers. Performances are excellent and the stream of consciousness method of storytelling adds to the complexity and texture of this hard-to-describe work of art.
This is a film which leaves us with much to ponder about organized religion and the role of faith in each of our lives. Not everyone's piece of pizza, but well worth a thinking person's time.
