(2011) W.E.
HISTORICAL ROMANTIC FICTIONAL DRAMA.
Almost like a sequel to "A King's Speech" centering on Bertie's brother David this time which this film combines actual documentary footage with a fictional story switching back and forth with the love situations with the Abbie Cornish character and Wallis Simpson (Andrea Riseborough) an actual character who came across what could've been the next King of the throne had he never got involved with her because of the fact she was already been married and an American. The film uses plenty of subliminal images, and at times hard to make out what was going on but it does produce a small understandment of what happened between David & Wallis. Abbie Cornish, although an exceptional actress was at times pointless to watch especially the auction scenes.
One of those films where I'll give it a pass, but personally a film I can't see myself watching again just because they're so many pointless images. Rather than focusing on an actual relationship, the Abbie Cornish character didn't felt like it was going anywhere.
2.5 out of 4.
