Review of Waydowntown (2002) by Bob S — 19 Nov 2010
What results from introducing brains to Gondry, excluding the zombies from Romero's Dawn of the dead plus paranoid vocational uncertainty, claustrophobial panic and self-discovery is this mildly psychedelic mind fuck.
The unreasonable but highly effective stylistic decisions keep this film at a 180 kph all the way through. Viscerally entertaining, an unexpected surprise.
