Review of Waydowntown (2002) by Gemma F — 19 Dec 2007
To many people, the constantly-shifting, desaturated video-to-film visuals and discontinuity tricks (plus the perennially annoying musical score) are drawbacks--not me! I also love how dislikable all the characters are, how self-enchanted and self-deluded.
I guess it feeds into my basic image of office work as a self-inflicted version of Hell. Much like a two-hour chunk of Seinfeld, only far less New York/Jewish/prone to provoke screen-punching.
