Review of Waterloo (1970) by Alistair N — 11 Jan 2008
This is a fantastic old school film where the viewer knows that everything they are seeing on screen (I mean the whole lot) is as real as can be. The focus is more on the spectacle rather than the characters, but Plummer and Steiger are excellent as the protagonists and some neat parallels are drawn between them.
It should be much better remembered than it is. Perfect Sunday afternoon viewing.
