Review of Watchmen (2001) by Ryan C — 10 Jun 2016
Here is an unpopular opinion. This is my favorite superhero movie. Based off an amazing graphic novel, the movie takes place in an alternative 1985 where heroes are banned and violence is rule. This is a very bitter and bleak look at things but it does so perfectly.
By far Zach Snyder's best, but 300 is close. The movie is extremely violent and dark with little comic relief but that good because the graphic novel had that same atmosphere. It has some of the most disturbed set of characters in a comic book film ever, and captures that perfectly.
This is a must see if you can get past the violence and sex.
