Review of Warm Bodies (2013) by J. Scott F — 03 Jan 2014
Zombie films are never really about zombies (except the really bad ones), they are about how people react to them and survive in a new society. They are all metaphors, and some are more brilliant than others.
This is wonderful twist on the zombie archetype - instead of focusing on how humans react & change due to zombies, this is about zombies reacting to humans. The zombie apocalypse can be seen as horror, or something to fear - or it can be seen as a societal analogy of how lifeless consumerism leaves us all dead & wandering .
. . and this film is a rare glimpse of hope amidst the hordes.
